We have been in the residential and commercial construction business since 1974 (sole-proprietor prior to 2004, Limited Liability Corporation since 2004). We have always done excellent work and have always guarranteed the work that we do. In addition to city and county licenses, we also have a license (as required) with the Alabama Homebuilders Licensure Board (File number 19424).

 

If you have a problem with the work that I do for you and we disagree, you may take your case to the state for arbitration. They will investigate and will require me to remedy the problem if their investigation finds in your favor. This has never happened to me and I have never been involved in any arbitration process or been sued. If a state licensed general contractor does not do the remedies demanded by the state, the state voids his license which means he cannot get a building permit for any residential projects over $10,000 or any commercial jobs over $50,000 and his existing permits are voided. In addition to this, I have signed a binding arbitration agreement with the Better Business Bureau. If you have a problem, I am legally obligated to allow the BBB to arbitrate too. This is great insurance for the client.

 

When I visit your residence for your free estimate, I will have two pages of references and a copy of my state license to give you. If we later agree on the scope and the price of your project, you will be required to sign a contract which details the above in addition to the payment schedule, working hours,and the project schedule. We do not accept money in advance unless you will be away during the project. Many of our repeat and referred clients do schedule construction during a vacation. Payments are made according to milestones of completed work and there is always a retainage that is not paid until you are completely satisfied with our work as it relates to the contract. As was said before, all my subcontractors are fully licensed and must carry a minimum of 1 million in liability and workman's compensation insurance and most have worked with me for decades.
